Running around outside is good for any Classy Girl...
Finding time to workout as a mother seems nearly impossible, but it’s an especially important way to model healthy behavior for your children. Although my Classy Girl personally has so much energy (and is a part of so many activities) that it’s hard to ever imagine a problem with being sedentary, finding time to be physically active together is still really important.
After trying out the Powerhouse Hit The Deck workout regimen for adults, I was inspired to create our own kid friendly version. Although it originally consisted of various exercise cards which are shuffled and done for 30 second intervals (creating an at-home circuit training routine), I knew that this would be way to boring for my 3 year old. Instead, I filled a box with different animal cards, and let my Classy Girl take turns acting them out. For example, we did exaggerated bunny hops (squat jumps), crab walks, and “deer leaps” throughout the house (which let me get my workout for the day, and my daughter burn off some steam and play). Plus, it was pretty educational too!
You Say: How do you keep your kids (and you) physically active through play?

There is one catalog that comes and I absolutely drool over things for my classy girl! It’s called Chasing Fireflies. It’s not inexpensive by any means but it is full of classy, unique and quality items such as clothing, gifts, toys and goodies to help your family celebrate holidays. You’ll also find several items that can be personalized.
A few items that really caught my eye in the holiday catalog are:

Wheely Mouse- this charming ride-on toy helps kids develop motor skills. It’s too cute for words! Made of a wood base and aluminum handle, the quality is far superior to a plastic ride-on available at mass retailers. This is one toy that can be passed around in the family as children grow! $88

Bustle Dress- available in black, brown, green, purple or red sizes (2/3-11/12) these adorable cotton dresses are so fun! The easy style can be worn for almost any occasion! $88 (There are several other styles of bustle dresses on chasing-fireflies.com that are for warmer weather. There is also a baby style…too, too cute!)

Christmas Eve: The Nativity Story- presented in verse, songs and beautiful artwork. This is a keepsake gift that your classy girl can cherish and share with her own children one day. $20

Personalized First Hanukkah tutu set- The onesie features her name (maximum 10 characters), and the fluffy tutu has star-shaped decorations in its folds. For baby: 3/6, 6/12, 12/18 months $54

Cupcake Set- What classy girl doesn’t love cupcakes? Even if she doesn’t enjoy eating them, the beauty of a well made cupcake is enough to bring a smile to anyone’s face! These wooden cupcakes look good enough to eat! Guaranteed not to give your girl a sugar high…just pure joy! $34
I could go on and on! There are just so many cute things to admire! Check them all out on Chasing-Fireflies.com.

I recently volunteered to try out a new potty training product “The Shandle”, which was designed to help kids remember to wash their hands, and aid them in lifting the lid (without having to touch the toilet). Although the idea behind it is adorable, it might be more befitting for a Classy Boy (who participates in frequent seat lifting), although some of the designs are perfect for little girls (like Pink Bunny, above).
Regardless, my 3 year old Classy Girl really did love that Molly the Monster reminded her to “wash your hands!”, and submitted her own opinion.
My Classy Girl Says: “I liked Molly The Monster, but I don’t think she was my friend.” Helpful, right?
Chic Mom says: An adorable idea, super cute characters, but definitely best for girls during the potty-training stage.
You Say: How do you help your daughters remember to wash their hands?
This product retails for $6.99.
