On my classy girl’s 4th birthday last year, she received her first American Girl Doll, Julie. She’s been a crazed fan ever since, pouring over the catalogs, “shopping” online and strategizing how to get her next doll. She has successfully saved up, and purchased, two of the Bitty Twins (it’s been a great motivator getting her to do her chores & save!), giving her a total of 3 dolls. She is convinced she needs Chrissa, the Doll of the Year before she is retired. I’m pretty sure Santa is already planning to help her out there.
While I love the dolls as well, my vote is to start investing in some gorgeous fashions for these dolls. I mean, just like my daughter and I, the dolls need a fabulous wardrobe, right??! American Girl offers some fun doll (and girl) fashions but I don’t think Julie and Chrissa should be label snobs.
Recently Discovered: Naya’s Designs on Etsy who sells handmade 18″ doll clothes fit American Dolls beautifully and rumor has it, they are very good quality!
My Classy Girl says: “Oh Mommy! I just can’t decide which one I like best! Look at that purse, look at that skirt…Hey, I have that Cheerleading outfit! Julie needs that!” (imagine her voice increasing in octave as she speaks)
Uptown Mom says: Quality and Cute, which ones to purchase first?! Maybe the houndstooth coat and hat? A doll has got to have a great winter jacket!
You say? Which outfit would you buy for your Classy Girl’s American Doll?
Outfits retail for $12.50-$32
